GIFT is an action-network established in 2011 to achieve sustained, measurable improvements in fiscal transparency, accountability and inclusive participation; by advancing incentives, norms, peer-learning, collaborative assistance and new technologies. It brings governments, civil society organizations, international financial institutions and other stakeholders together, and facilitates meaningful dialogue on fiscal openness. The International Monetary Fund; World Bank Group; International Budget Partnership; International Federation of Accountants; Department of Budget and Management of the Philippines; Federal Secretary of Budget and Planning of Brazil; and the Treasury Secretariat of Mexico; are the lead stewards of GIFT, comprising 58 members in 2024. GIFT is administratively housed at IBP. This course was funded by the US State Department.
